South Ribble Apprentice Factory
The Apprentice Factory offers an impartial advice and support service supporting local businesses to find the best skills solutions for workforce development needs. The Apprentice Factory Investment and Skills team can provide specialist support to employers, residents and young people planning their future careers. This will include advice and guidance relating to organisational development strategies and skills implementation plans - including information about local training provision, recruitment support for apprentices and new staff, and promotion of new jobs and apprenticeship opportunities to the local community.
We have partnered with SHOUT Network to create the South Ribble Careers Fest which brings together jobseekers, employers and educators all under one roof to give businesses the perfect place to recruit and to give everyone the valuable opportunity to meet some of Lancashire’s leading employers. The event caters to many needs by showcasing employers with apprenticeships, career development opportunities, vacancies and jobs. If you are a business wishing to recruit new talent, or if you are seeking your first career opportunity, want to progress your career or are a graduate searching for a job, then these are the events for you!

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) offers funding to help employers take on construction apprentices. From 1 April 2019, CITB’s attendance grants to employers increased to £2,500 per year, while achievement grants will rise to £3,500 for companies whose apprentice successfully completes their training. The Employment Taskforce members offer you help with recruitment and training
Jobcentre Plus or one of our local Work Programme providers can supply further information and advice on recruiting local people. They offer support to source the right people for your organisation and support to help people access the appropriate training and employment support.
Working alongside Jobcentre Plus and other Employment Taskforce partners, the South Ribble Apprentice Factory aims to bring together businesses and would-be apprentices offering them guidance and support.
The innovative new project aims to put apprenticeships at the heart of business in South Ribble, It gathers all the apprenticeship, skills and training information and makes it accessible in one place, clearly showing where the opportunities lie around South Ribble and offering your business affordable solutions to up-skill your existing workforce and to develop the skills your business needs for the future.
