Leyland is to receive up to £25 million in funding following a submission in October 2020 by Leyland Town Board to the Government's Town Fund.
The Leyland Town Deal Board has been established to develop the bid with members from private sector businesses, education, public, community and voluntary sectors.
Town Deals aim to boost businesses, regenerate town centres and improve infrastructure. Following consultation and engagement with the community, the Leyland Town Deal will deliver three key projects in Leyland Town Centre:
• Leyland town centre improvements including a new public square and commercial and residential developments
• Improvements to Leyland Market, linking it to the new town square
• BASE2 - a business advice, skills and enterprise hub offering new co-working space, support and facilities for training, events and workspaces
