SLEAP is a South Ribble based charity with a commitment to creating Social Value in the Borough. Using the Council’s Social Value toolkit SLEAP have seen how much Social Value they are creating in the borough and wider community.
Social Value Actions
- People - SLEAP support local school events and initiatives, often visiting classes or doing assemblies.
- Employment - They provide professional placements for Social Work students, Counselling students and even, this year, they did work experience for Year 10 students from a local school.
- Economic - SLEAP buy local as often as possible, from using local caterers for training or other events, to buying their stationery and printing paper from a local shop. When SLEAP receive grants to buy equipment or white goods for beneficiaries, they use local business to purchase those.
- Environmental- They run a scheme where our beneficiaries can borrow bikes so they can get to college, job interviews or just for leisure and exercise.

We believe in a fair local economy that works for everyone.
We want to work with local businesses, community groups and stakeholders to deliver social value, which will improve wellbeing of our residents and environmental sustainability in the Borough.
