Supporting Business Recruitment

South Ribble Borough Council and partners offer support to businesses and help for you to find the staff you need for your business development.

Businesses including Waitrose and Dr Oetker have already benefited from support from the Council, working with Jobcentre Plus and local colleges, for their new developments in the borough. Please see our case study downloads for details.

Employment Taskforce members offer you help with recruitment, training and apprenticeships.

Jobcentre Plus or one of your local Work Programme providers can supply further information and advice on recruiting local people and support to identify the right person.

Employers may be eligible for a £1,500 Apprenticeship Grant. These grants are available to help small-medium sized employers to recruit a new apprentice aged 16 to 24. Employers can claim support for up to 10 apprentices. The grants are in addition to any training costs for apprentices the employer might get and don’t have to be paid back.

Employers can also apply for funding to cover training costs for apprentices. This is paid directly to the organisation that provides and supports the apprenticeship - in most cases the learning provider. Please see the GOV.UK apprenticeship guidance.

If you would like to recruit new staff, find out about staff development support or consider work placements and apprenticeships, please contact us to let us know your needs.
